Aquatic Supervisor Training (AST)For deck-level supervisory staff, this 10-12 hour course provides the knowledge and skills beyond National Lifeguard certification to manage a safe aquatic environment. The purpose of Aquatic Supervisor Training course is to offer candidates basic or introductory information about supervision. Supplemental learning will be gained through experience, facility-specific training presented by the candidate’s future employers and more advanced courses and workshop. Pre-requisite: National Lifeguard or Lifesaving Society Instructor certification (need not be current); and 100 hours of experience as a lifeguard and/or instructor or letter of recommendation from Supervisor. Evaluation & certification: The AST Instructor evaluates and certifies AST candidates. Candidate recognition: Certification card.
